Definition of Slide, Layout and Themes in PowerPoint ?

In this article we will learn about the definition of slides, Layout as well as themes that is the common terms which is used in making of presentation. We will also learn, how to add them in presentation and also making presentation with them. 

What is slides, Layout and Themes in PowerPoint?

What is Slide?

A slide is a single or any individual page of presentation which may contains knowledge about useful or important topics or ideas. A presentation is group of slides and these slides are arranged in specific order. So It is important to learn about it.

With the help of steps given below, you can easily add slides in your presentation:

1. Select Home tab.
2. Click on New slide.
3. Select Layout for your slide. 
4. Your slide is ready. 

What is Layout? 

The way in which things are arranged on a slide is called Layout. It may contains tables, placeholder, Pictures, shapes and clip art. With layout you can easily explain your idea. PowerPoint contains many predefined layouts for comparisons and many more.

When you add a slide the layout(Slide Layout) will open automatically. You also change the layout of the slide by performing  the steps given below:

1. Click on Home ribbon.
2. Select Layout tool and a pull list will appear.
3. Choose the required layout and press enter. 

What is Themes? 

A theme is a set of predefined colours, fonts  and graphic effects. It allows us to create well-designed presentation in a very easy way.

To make a presentation with themes perform following steps:

1. Click on file menu, then select new.
2. Select Themes.
3. Select the themes of your choice and press enter.
